According to the prosecution, led by SP Josephine Ikayere, the incident occurred on August 11, 2025, along Berger Expressway, outward Lagos.

Bambe is accused of punching LASTMA official Dare Medahunsi – attached to the Ojodu Berger Zone – while he was performing his lawful duties.

The prosecutor further stated that the defendant obstructed the officer’s work, resulting in a disruption of public order. The alleged actions violate Sections 172 and 168 of the Lagos State Criminal Law, 2015.

Bambe pleaded not guilty to the charges. Magistrate Lateef Owolabi granted him bail in the sum of ₦300,000, with two sureties in like amount.

The case has been adjourned to September 24 for mention.

The incident adds to a growing list of confrontations between traffic enforcement officers and members of the public, raising concerns about the safety of officials and the need for improved conflict resolution mechanisms on Lagos roads.
