Transfer: Maguire Says Manchester United Blocked Summer Exit

Manchester United defender Harry Maguire has revealed that the club prevented him from leaving during the summer transfer window, despite interest from multiple teams.

Speaking to reporters, the 32-year-old centre-back claimed United made it clear he was not available for transfer.

“I am almost certain that Man United made it clear this summer that I could not leave under any circumstances,” Maguire said.

“Several clubs inquired, and I think they were quickly told.”

Maguire, who joined United from Leicester City in 2019 for a then-world record fee of £80 million for a defender, has faced a challenging spell at Old Trafford.

He was stripped of the captaincy and endured periods of limited game time under previous managers.

However, under new head coach Ruben Amorim, Maguire appears to be enjoying a resurgence, with improved performances and renewed confidence on the pitch.

His comments come amid speculation surrounding United’s defensive reshuffle and growing interest from clubs seeking experienced reinforcements. Despite the setbacks, Maguire remains committed to contributing to the team’s ambitions this season.
