Manchester City striker Erling Haaland has set a new UEFA Champions League record, becoming the fastest player to reach 50 goals in the competition’s history.
The Norwegian hit the milestone on Thursday night after scoring against Napoli at the Etihad Stadium, achieving the feat in just 49 appearances. He surpasses the previous record held by Dutch legend Ruud van Nistelrooy, who reached the same mark in 62 games.
At 26 years and 22 days old, Haaland is also the second-youngest player to reach 50 UCL goals, trailing only Kylian Mbappé of Paris Saint-Germain.
His latest strike places him level with Thierry Henry in ninth on the all-time Champions League scorers list, further cementing his status as one of the most lethal forwards in world football.
