Evicted Big Brother Naija Season 10 housemate, Oluwakayikunmi Ajibade, popularly known as Kayikunmi, has shared candid reflections on how his relationship with fellow housemate Isabella affected his visibility and interactions during his time in the house.
In an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Wednesday, the 25-year-old Ekiti native admitted that his calm and reserved nature was often eclipsed by Isabella’s more dominant personality.
“In a relationship, there’s always a stronger person. She was much more outgoing than I was, she was louder. I was more calm and reserved,” he said.
Kayikunmi revealed that Isabella’s strong presence didn’t sit well with many housemates, which in turn impacted how others engaged with him.
“In as much as the relationship was early, a lot of people didn’t get to know me for me or talk to me because not everyone liked Isabella,” he explained.
“She was not the most loved person in the house and when we were in the house, I would want to have conversations with certain people but all they would be saying is, ‘I don’t want issues, I don’t want this and that’.”
He noted that only a few housemates who were open-minded took the time to connect with him beyond the relationship dynamic.
Despite the challenges, Kayikunmi maintained a positive outlook on the experience.
“Regardless, I think it was not necessarily negative, but it is what it is, and I can’t cry over spilt milk.”
Big Brother Naija Season 10 kicked off with a double premiere on July 26 and 27. Kayikunmi, alongside fellow housemate Otega, was evicted on Sunday, August 18.
