“Girls Just Go to the Gym to Vibe” – Terry Apala Sparks Controversy

Afrofusion star Terry Apala has ignited a wave of online reactions following his controversial remarks about women and their motivations for going to the gym.

Speaking on the Echoo Room podcast, the singer claimed that most women frequent gyms not for fitness, but for socializing and content creation.

“I feel like our girls of nowadays are just going there to enjoy the whole vibe,” Apala said, doubling down on an earlier post from August where he warned men against allowing their partners to register at gyms.

“I will not allow my partner to go to the gym,” he wrote on X.

During the interview, Apala elaborated on his stance, suggesting that while a minority of women genuinely focus on working out, the majority treat gyms as social arenas.

“They’re just vibing, they’re not there to actually work out. If they really want to work out, they won’t be focused on doing videos,” he said.

The singer also pointed fingers at men, alleging that some attend gyms solely to flirt with women.

Drawing from his personal experience at fitness centers like iFitness and Megamound Estate, Apala claimed that romantic interactions between gym-goers and instructors are common.

“If you have the money, put your girl inside your house, buy the tools, let them gym,” he advised.

“Because bro, at the end of the day, no matter what, your babe is talking romantically with one of all those guys in the gym or the gym instructor.”

Apala’s comments have sparked intense debate across social media, with some supporting his views and others calling them outdated and sexist.

The conversation continues to trend, highlighting broader discussions around gender, fitness culture, and trust in relationships.
