This action follows a major cabinet shake-up less than 48 hours earlier, which saw the dismissal of all former commissioners and the replacement of the Chief of Staff, Mr. Paul Biam, with former banker Mr. Moses Atagher.

The List of Commissioner-Nominees include:

  • Mrs. Theresa Odachi Ikwue
  • Dr. Benjamin Ashaver
  • Dr. Margaret Adamu Ijaguwa
  • Dr. Peter Egbodo
  • Dr. Yangien Ornguga
  • Mr. Denis Iyaighgba
  • Mr. James Dwem
  • Dr. Paul Ogwuche

In a statement issued by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Tersoo Kula, the transmission of the nominees to the Assembly was described as a constitutional step aimed at strengthening governance and ensuring efficient service delivery.

He further stated that the Governor remains committed to “transparency, competence, and inclusivity” in assembling a new team that will execute the administration’s developmental agenda for the state.

A second batch of nominees is expected to be forwarded to the House of Assembly in the coming days.

This marks a critical stage in Governor Alia’s effort to restructure his cabinet and reinforce his commitment to delivering on key policy promises.
