Iwobi Joins Nigerian Elite with Historic Premier League Milestone

Alex Iwobi etched his name into Premier League history on Sunday, becoming only the third Nigerian player to record over 65 goal contributions in England’s top flight.

The Fulham midfielder provided a crucial assist in the club’s 1–1 draw against Manchester United at Craven Cottage, setting up substitute Emile Smith Rowe for the equalizer in the second half.

With the assist, Iwobi’s Premier League tally now stands at 67 goal contributions, comprising 31 goals and 36 assists, placing him alongside Nigerian greats Shola Ameobi and Kelechi Iheanacho in the elite bracket.

Only Yakubu Aiyegbeni (121 goal contributions) and Nwankwo Kanu (83) have registered higher totals among Nigerian players in the league.

Iwobi, 29, delivered a standout performance throughout the match, showcasing his versatility and composure against a formidable Manchester United side.

The Arsenal Academy graduate featured for the full 90 minutes in what was a tightly contested encounter.
